Personal Improvement

We all try to accentuate the positives and eliminate the negatives in our daily lives. If we could eliminate all the negatives then life would be much more enjoyable. However, life is always about over coming challenges and improving our life skills with each new obstacle. It’s important for us to focus on things we can do to improve ourselves, in order to reduce or minimize the negatives. Take drinking coffee for example. Many are addicted to it and just as many would like to stop drinking it all together. Lets talk about some simple strategies to implement in your daily life to help get you off coffee, or at least be drinking less of it on a daily basis.

1. Identify first that you have an addiction. Are you drinking more than 5 cups a day? This includes iced coffee as well. The main reasons you should do ask yourself this is  to discover any bad habits that you have. Why do you need so much coffee? Do you drink out of habit or out of addiction? It also helps establish a base line for improvement, and self acceptance of a problem never hurts.

2. Ween of caffeine slowly. The best reason for this is that cold turkey does not work. To change habits starts with slow consistent effort over a period of time. As an alternative, you would be better off if you just transitioning to drinking three cups of tea, no coffee, and no soda.

3. Go with decaffeinated in your house. Clearly that is a smart choice and a simple way to reduce your dependency. Your body will slowly adjust to consuming less and less caffeine, and you still get the satisfaction of drinking hot coffee.

Do your best to implement all three items mentioned above and your chances of success will be much improved. It takes commitment and discipline to reduce your coffee intake. There is nothing wrong with drinking coffee, however most over do it. Try to make it a point in your life to drink less coffee and see how the results are.
